Sayyed al-Houthi has called out the hypocrisy and inaction of Arab countries in the face of Apartheid Israel’s genocide in historic Palestine. He vows continued resistance as ‘Israel’ deceives the world, Gaza is starved, and Arab regimes are complicit.

Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, leader of the Ansar Allah movement of Yemen, prior to addressing the Yemeni people on Feb. 6, 2024 (Al Mayadeen English)

The leader of Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement, Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi, has declared that Yemen’s military operations in support of Gaza will continue. In his weekly speech on Thursday, July 31, he reported on operations during the preceeding week using ten missiles and drones, including a strike on Lod (Lydd) Airport (Ben Gurion Airport) on July 29. He announced that Yemen has declared the start of a fourth phase of operations targeting vessels affiliated with any company that does business with the Israeli occupation or which delivers cargo to it.

‘Israel’ deceiving public opinion

Sayyed al-Houthi explained on July 31 that the current stage of the Yemeni Armed Forces’ operations is an essential measure in response to the dire conditions in Gaza. He stresses that ‘Israel’ is misleading the world and manipulating global sentiment, even as outrage grows over its brutal siege of Gaza and unprecedented cruelty. The leader of Ansar Allah pointed out that the airdropping of aid serves no real purpose other than deception because ground transport could easily deliver food and humanitarian supplies for distribution across Gaza faster and in much larger quantities.

Addressing the worsening humanitarian disaster in the Palestinian enclave, Sayyed al-Houthi emphasized that Gaza’s children have become the living embodiment of Palestinian suffering. Their unimaginable plight lays bare how both the international community and the Muslim world have completely failed them.

The Ummah must pressure its governments

“A nation of two billion Muslims [the Ummah] possesses the material and moral capacity to take strong positions, yet many of those who sympathize with the Palestinians are astonished by the Muslim stance,” Sayyed al-Houthi explained. He emphasizes that the Arab peoples could pressure their governments and mobilize collectively to shift the political landscape, but their current inaction stems from state-imposed restrictions.

The Yemeni leader emphasized that the popular, Arab stances are being heavily influenced by the official positions of their governments, adding that Arab inaction has enabled Israeli crimes and contributed to the scale and extent of Zionist tyranny. He points out that the $22 billion Washington has provided to fund the aggression against Gaza ultimately comes from the trillions of dollars earned and then removed (looted) from Arab nations. “Some Arab regimes, under the guise of what they call ‘normalization’, have gone so far as to open their airspace and airports to serve the Israeli enemy.”

Sayyed al-Houthi recalls how Western sources are even talking about information and intelligence cooperation between ‘Israel’ and Arab regimes. He also slammed the contradictory and distracting positions of European countries, pointing out that while Britain claims it intends to recognize a ‘Palestinian state’ (whatever that failed and decades-old proposal would represent or look like), it simultaneously continues to provide weapons and multifaceted support to ‘Israel’.

Regarding Syria, Sayyed al-Houthi explained that despite agreements involving concessions, southern Syria remains an open theater for Israeli occupation forces to operate. (end report)

Donald Trump’s foreign policy is just Biden plus, analysis by Robert Inlakesh (UK writer), in Al Mayadeen English, July 31, 2025  Robert Inlakesh argues that Donald Trump’s foreign policy is simply an intensified version of the foreign policy of his predecessor regime under J. Biden. The policy is cloaked in populist bluster but rooted in the same imperialist goals. Much of not-so-alternative media in the West fell for the ruse and continues to do so. Such media outlets are irrevocably bankrupt and should henceforth be treated as dangerous demogogues.]

Comment by the editors of  The Multiplural World, Aug 1, 2025  [In June 2012, the Egyptian people elected Mohamed Morsi as president. He was a leader of the Freedom and Justice Party, founded in 2011 with the participation of the Muslim Brotherhood movement. The also party won the majority of seats in the national legislature in the same election. On July 3, 2013, Morsi and his government were overthrown in a violent, military/fascist coup; the heroic Morsi died in prison in 2019 at the age of 67. Western governments and media were all-but silent over the coup, and therefore complicit. Also complicit was the near entirety of the bankrupt political left in the West, including the entirety of the remnants of Trotskyism. Much of this ‘left’ actually welcomed the Egypt coup, revealing a deep, anti-Muslim prejudice and racism previously hidden from view. This same left went from revealing its Islamophobia (anti-Muslim racism) over the coup in Egypt to supporting the coup in Ukraine barely six month later. It calle dupon ther NATO imperialist countries to step up the arming of the far-right paramilitary forces in Ukraine and their newly-installed coup regime!].
