Beginning January 2018, there are three pages of daily news reporting and analysis on A Socialist In Canada website. The page topics are:
The format of each page consists of headlines plus original weblinks. Short excerpts from the original item are sometimes included. Additional information or comments are sometimes added by Roger Annis; these are written [in square brackets].
The main reason for creating these news pages is the decline and lamentable state of left-wing media and activism in Canada. This is evidenced by failure to speak out against Canada’s increasingly militaristic role in the world, failure to voice a political alternative to the conservative and moribund New Democratic Party, and the absence of a holistic view of the triple threat facing humanity–global warming, growing social inequities, and rising war and militarism. This is a subject to which I will return in forthcoming writings.
The three news pages are in addition to the articles that are published on the website main news page and emailed to website subscribers. These articles are listed by category in the ‘Categories’ section in the right-hand column of the website home page.
A listing of selected past articles by Roger Annis is contained in the ‘Feature articles‘ section on the website home page.
If you have suggestions for significant articles of news or analysis that could be listed on the three news pages mentioned above, please email those to: rogerannis@hotmail.com.
